Folks! I’m absolutely thrilled to announce a new batch of original tunes and a new website for Blue Alatar!
Kicking & Screaming is a new 3-track, folk-rock E.P. that’s been in the works for a little over a year now. What makes this E.P. particularly special is it’s the first Blue Alatar project to feature vocals, care of my good friend Si Pettit. It also features an array of excellent musicians: Harri Beasley provides drums on all 3 tracks; Ellie Winter plays hammered dulcimer on No Thanks To You; Pitz Quattrone plays didgeridoo / yidaki on the title track; while I get to play guitars, bass, bouzouki and mandolin. I’m coining this genre “fenland folk-rock”

As for the website, BlueAlatar.com has all the details of this new release, previous releases and more info about the band, my place in it, inspirations and collaborators. I’ve always felt The Musical Endeavour was essentially the same brand as LTGuitarist, so it makes sense to keep those releases on this website, while allowing the Blue Alatar space to be it’s own project, on it’s own website. So there, that’s why there’s a website.
You can pay what you like for this new E.P. on Ko-Fi; or listen for free on Deezer or Spotify.
If you really want to deep-dive into the E.P., understand the process behind the tracks, the songwriting, the history of the music, etc, you can tune-in to the Sound Hole podcast: Part 1 & Part 2.
