I told you there would be more music this year. You can listen to the new single, Shadows In The Sand, on Spotify, Deezer, etc, or download the MP3 from Ko-Fi. Like The Trials and Omnom from earlier this year, this is a return to the instrumental, psychedelic rock that Blue Alatar started making all those years ago. In fact, Shadows In The Sand was one of the first songs I ever released, many years ago, under a different name. I was really excited by the idea of building a new version from scratch.
In Shadows In The Sand, I’m playing guitars, fretless bass and programing a bunch of stuff. I’m thrilled to welcome Si Pettit back, lending some awesome vocal harmonies. I’m also thrilled to introduce Richard Davies on Saxophone – this was my first time working with Richard and I’m really excited by his contribution. Solo horns haven’t made an appearance on Blue Alatar tracks before, even though I’m a big fan of that family of instruments. Who knows, maybe we’ll have more in the future?
