I’m so pleased to share this with you! I’ve wanted to tackle The Modes for some time and, older subscribers may remember, I’ve taken a few runs at it over the years. For some reason, The Modes are viewed as this big, scary thing and it certainly took me some years to get my head around them. What have for you today is exactly what I wish someone had told me years ago.

Firstly, I’m going to take a brief look at the history of The Modes to try and explain why we think they’re so damn confusing.

The second video explains the way I view The Modes and how to use them practically. I believe this to be the most straightforward way to conceptualize The Modes and the easist way to implement within your musical arsenal.
